Nepal’s altitudinal variety is second to none. It has always been home to the highest mountains on the planet, but what few realize, is that it also hosts some of the greatest rivers and magical forests that the world has ever seen. The Chitwan National Park and the lesser seen Bardia National Park are as good a place as any to discover stunning birds and colorful wildlife including the Bengal Florican, Swamp Francolin, Ibisbill, Bengal tiger, one-horned rhino, leopard, langur monkey, water buffalo and the Asian elephant. Another area worth visiting is the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, a place that introduces you to over 100 species in a single day, and your best bet of seeing the incredibly rare Gangetic dolphin.
