At a Glance

Tucked away near the calm and quiet fishing village of Nerul, at the confluence of  the Arabian Sea and the Mandovi and Nerul rivers, Ahilya by the Sea has a uniquely beautiful setting on Dolphin (Aguada) Bay, with waves from the Arabian Sea tumbling onto our sea wall.  

 An individual mix of Indonesian and Goan style, Ahilya by the Sea was built on the site of the old Portuguese custom houses and boasts stunning views of the Arabian Sea, Aguada headlands, Panjim,  and the entrance to Old Goa.  Our 3 villas (the family resides in one), made of hand-hewn local red laterite rock, are surrounded by lush gardens with 2 lap pools, one next to the sea wall – the ultimate infinity pool – and one surrounded coconut palms and rare tropical plants. 

Sunrise Villa
Sunrise villa has three air-conditioned bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. All have splendid views of the sea; lie in bed and watch the dolphins cavorting in Dolphin Bay! A private dining room opens out onto a covered verandah, ideal for taking in the sea breeze, and the larger of the property’s two swimming pools is close enough to roll in to.  At the top of the stairwell is a hidden reading nook where one reclines into plush pillows and watches the waves out the bay window.

Sunset Villa
Sunset Villa offers guests a self-contained villa with four sea facing air conditioned bedrooms, a family room, dining alcove and fully equipped kitchenette.  Friends and family can enjoy the privacy of a villa experience, or our individual rooms make an intimate setting for a romantic getaway for two. The family’s antiques and art in all rooms ensure that guests feel the intimacy of being in a private home.

Each room opens onto the sea for stunning sunset vistas. The family room’s tastefully appointed interiors create a chic yet homely setting for an afternoon chat, while the comfortable covered verandah is perfect for finally finishing that great novel. Step outside for a relaxing plunge in one of our two swimming pools just a few meters away.
