More..

Disembark in Darjeeling, which offers the classic views of the Mt. Everest at the famous Tiger Hill. It will demand an early wake-up, though. But I guess the trouble is worth it because the sunrise on the Tiger Hill is simply amazing! Several important Gompas are also worth a visit.

The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute is a great place to visit for firsthand experience on this favorite activity. After a fabulous start in the hills, it’s time to touch base at your next spot the village of Kewzing, a typical Bhutia village rich in cardamom forest cover. The atmosphere in the village is very serene and peaceful. Far away from the modern way of life, it offers you a chance to relax and rejuvenate before heading onto the next stop, Pelling.

The natural beauty is beyond words and any possible description. Weather permitting you will get great views of the lofty Kanchenjunga. Picturesque villages, unique walking trails await you. Further ahead, is Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, also has the famous Rumtek Monastery apart from the enchanting natural wealth of scenic points and stunning views of the lofty peaks.

The tour also gives you a little surprise tucked away in the hills. Samthar offers some great local treks, flora and fauna and of course the warm hospitality of the Lepcha community. The soul-nourishing experience continues with Kalimpong, which means playground on the ridge. This place looks as if, was once a painting which has turned real with a magic wand. The riot of colors in the golden oak forests, the pristine waters hopping in a brook, the mystical shades in the sky changing with the dawn and dusk and the innocently gleaming eyes of the little monks; what else can it be but magic!!

So much and more is wrapped in the folds of these lofty peaks and inviting valleys!!

Our tour features the following locations

KOLKATA: Kolkata is often seen as a poor and chaotic place to be in, thought to be undeserving of its status as one of India’s top four metros, and that may have something to do with the fewer number of travellers visiting the city. It certainly looks that way, until you realise that its true charms lie in its deep-rooted culture, its unique way of life and its quintessential East meets West attitude. The city is surrounded by fascinating natural beauty, ranging from the iconic Sunderbans and their man-eating tigers to the serene hills of Darjeeling. Popularly called the intellectual and cultural capital of the country, Kolkata is also one of those few destinations where traditional gentlemen’s clubs, an ancient way of life, historic customs and that ‘friendly vibe’ still exists. Don’t miss out on the colonial architecture, never ignore that mouth-wateringly delicious Bengali food and just have a blast talking to the locals. The best time to visit Kolkata is during Durga Puja, a celebration that engulfs the entire city in festival lights, street carnivals, beautiful fairs and spectacular displays of its rich cultural and artistic heritage.

KURSEONG: Discover tranquillity in Kurseong, which in Lepcha means ‘the Land of White Orchids,’ referring to the small white orchid prolific here. Often you can look down on the clouds below. It seems like the sea, stretching for miles, filling the valleys and the peaks. Ranges rise out of it like islands and peninsulas. Kurseong is developing as a quiet hill station. Tea gardens include Castleton, Makaibarie, Ambotia and Goomtee.

DARJEELING: Ever heard of Darjeeling Tea? Made popular all over the world by the British, Darjeeling is among the top tea-growing regions on the planet. It hosts beautiful tea gardens and sipping tea while watching mesmerising mountain views is among the best things to do here. Nestled among the clouds, the Queen of the Hills has always been famous because of its lofty plantations and beautiful handicrafts, but it’s slowly emerging as a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts as well. Victorian-era architecture is sure to be another highlight of your tour, while places like Mall Road and Chowrasta are perfect spots to watch life go by.

PELLING: Pelling’s star attraction is its sunrise views of Khangchendzongam, a mesmerising display of nature that leaves you spellbound and tantalised by her beauty. Upper Pelling is where most of the tourist action takes place, and this is where you find most of the hotels and restaurants located here. Pelling is quickly emerging as an exciting alternative to Gangtok, one that presents similar experiences minus the crowds. It is also home to the popular Pemayangste Monastery. Other things to do in Pelling include rock climbing, meditation, mountain biking and educational studies.

KEWZING: Meaning the land of wheat is located 76 km’s from Gangtok, in the southern district of Sikkim. At an altitude of 4600 ft, the village is located against a backdrop of the magnificent view of mountains that include Mt Narsing and Mt Kabru. Kewzing is a typical Bhutia village rich in cardamom forest cover. The atmosphere in the village is very serene and peaceful. Far away from the modern way of life, it offers visitors a chance to relax and rejuvenate themselves.

GANGTOK: Gangtok has come a long way from its gloomy past, back when Sikkim was an independent kingdom in the region. Modern day Gangtok is a beautiful, boisterous and cheerful place, a growing metropolis that offers the perfect base to explore places such as Tsongmo Lake and Rumtek or simply soak in exotic mountain views from the comfort of your hotel beds. MG Marg is where you can chill out, rediscover India in a litter-free, spit-free and car-free zone, or simply breathe in the carnival-like atmosphere that feels like everyday life here. The city also treats you to some of the best shopping in the region as well as cultural extravaganzas such as the Gangtok Food and Culture Festival. For the perfect birds-eye view of this beautiful town, head over to the Zig Back ropeway that connects Deorali to Tashiling Secretariat.

SAMTHAR: A picturesque Highland ideal for adventure seekers. Owing to its undulating terrains, the plateau serves as a perfect spot for enjoying adventurous activities like hiking, mountain biking, and nature exploration. Located at an elevation of about 1,400 m in the foothills of the mighty Himalayas, this scenic destination features terraced fields, mountain streams and thatch huts that add to its natural beauty. Moreover, this place is also considered a heaven for birdwatchers and nature lovers.

KALIMPONG: Kalimpong, a small town in West Bengal, is slowly emerging as a popular tourist destination thanks to its mild climate and natural beauty. It is full of ancient Buddhist monasteries, beautiful churches and temples, and also offers stunning vistas of the Teesta Rangit Valley in Sikkim. Popular attractions include the Army Golf Course, Durpin Monastery, the local Haat Bazaar, Jelepla View Point, Deolo Hill and Sherpa View Point. The best time to visit Kalimpong is during the summer season when you can escape the scorching heat and enjoy some time in the hills.

What our clients say

Book your tour with Mystic India, we highly recommended then. My wife and I have just returned from a tour of Darjeeling and Sikkim, and every step of the way went without one single hitch. Their local agents called us each day to on our mobile phone which was given to us to use during our tour which came in very handy when we went for walks on our own and needed to let the driver know we were ready to meet him. Thank you so much, we want to go back again and explore another area.
