Treasures of Central India

DELHI (2) - AGRA (1) - GWALIOR (1) - KHAJURAHO (2) - ORCHHA (2) - BHOPAL (2) - MAHESHWAR (3) - MUMBAI (2) = 15 nights

The heritage and cultural legacy of India is indeed nothing less than a treasure for the present and for all the generations to come.

Overview

This tour has been specially designed to showcase the magnificent architectural wonders in the various destinations. You start at the capital, Delhi experiencing the medieval and the colonial wonders here and of course the modern hubs too. The city of Agra offers one of the exquisite wonders in marble- the Taj. Its view in the full moon is one to be cherished forever!

Gwalior, the next city is all the more stunning. The Fort of Gwalior was referred to as the pearl of the east by emperor Babur. Be it the royal residence of the Scindias at Jai Vilas or the royal museum; is a real privilege. It also happens to be one of the most well developed and well maintained cities. Just a little ahead is the beautiful town at the banks of river Betwa-Orchha which means 'hidden'. Time freezes here when you witness the sculpted and well chiselled marvels in stone.

The Bundela frescoes are also a must to see. Your next two days in Bhopal will  bring you close to a cultural variant of its kind. Trust me the treasure gets richer and richer on the way. The city of Maheshwar today might be known for the special hand woven sarees but in the heart of it is full of monuments and ancient temples.

The treasure hunt culminates at Mumbai which is yet another city worth exploring!!
