India sometimes comes across as the magician's bag that springs out unique surprises one after the other. All the states in this colourful country have something special to offer and Chhattisgarh, the state which you cover through this tour, is a classic example!

Overview

You get to taste the heritage at Delhi in the beginning and then suddenly you are transferred to the wonderful land of wildlife and tribal grandeur.  They say it is more rewarding to go through a wildlife experience with the mindset of a nature lover then that of a tiger spotter! 

True, because then it becomes an unforgettable journey through the wild environs.  So, do try this out while you enthusiastically tread through the Kanha National Park. Located in the Mandla district, this park is rich in a variety of wildlife flora fauna. Keep your fingers crossed to catch a glimpse of the wild cat! 

The other part of this tour takes you to Raipur, Kawadha, Kanker and Jagdalpur which happen to be the best specimens and front runners in ecotourism in India. Apart from mesmeric waterfalls, green woods and ancient temples, all these places have herbal gardens, natural health resorts and a rich variety of handicrafts to offer. 

Lately there has been a mention to ethno medicine being practised here; one that seems to predate Ayurveda too.  It is surely going to be an interesting journey through and through!!

Outlined Itinerary

Day 01 - Delhi
Arrive Delhi, meet and transfer to your hotel. Later proceed for orientation tour of Old and New Delhi. Visit Qutub Minar – the 239ft sandstone tower. Drive past the India Gate; Parliament House [exterior] and the President’s Palace. Visit Raj Ghat where Mahatma Gandhi – The Father of Nation was cremated; drive past the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk.
Day 02 - Kanha NP
Early morning transfer to Delhi airport to board flight for Jabalpur 0610-0820. On arrival in Jabalpur you will be met by our representatives and transferred to Kanha NP (4.5 hrs). Evening proceed for Game Drive by shared Jeep;. One of India’s largest national parks with an area of 1945 sq.km. It supports excellent wildlife and is a part of Project Tiger. Kanha became a national park in 1955 and has 22 species of mammals. Safaris included and FULL BOARD
Day 03 - Kanha NP
Early morning proceed for Game drive by shared jeep; after safari return to Hotel for breakfast, Afternoon proceed for game drive by shared jeep; The rest of the day in between safaris are at leisure. Safaris included and FULL BOARD

Day 05 - Kawardha
After breakfast, you will drive to Kawardha (3 hrs). Located at the edge of the scenic Maikal Ranges and to the south east of the famous Kanha, Kawardha is a small but exceptionally beautiful town of Chhattisgarh. Evening proceed to visit the famous Kawardha Palace. Just east of the Maikala Range to the SE of Kanha National Park, Kawardha is a small town in Chhattisgarh. In this remote area Maharaja Vishwaraj Singh has opened his palace to visitors.
Day 06 - Kawardha
After breakfast you are free to explore the Tribal Villages around Kawardha.
Day 07 - Kawardha
After breakfast you are at leisure, free to relax or explore on your own.
Day 08 - Raipur
After breakfast you will drive to Raipur (3 hrs). Afternoon is at leisure to relax and explore on own. Raipur was founded by the Kalchuri King Ram Chandra of Raipur last quarter of the 14th century AD. Now, Raipur is the Headquarters of the District and Division of the same name centrally located in the newly formed State Chhattisgarh.
Day 09 - Kanker
After breakfast, you will drive to Kanker (4 hrs). Upon arrival at Kanker Palace, the Maharaja's family will greet you and will be happy to interpret and explain the folklore and tradition of the State they once ruled. Evening is at leisure to explore. Kanker is full of small hilly pockets, was a centre for Buddhism in 6th century BC the region. This thousand year old town offers a splendid combination of forest, waterfalls and exquisite tribal villages nestled inside. HALF BOARD
Day 10 - Kanker
After breakfast you will proceed towards south of Kanker and climb-up the forested Keshkal Ghat which marks the border of Bastar 500m above the plain. You will encounter here the special nature of North Bastar with a visit to a colorful weekly market (if it is market day). HALF BOARD
Day 11 - Jagdalpur
After breakfast you will drive to Jagdalpur (6 hrs). Upon arrival, check in at the Hotel. In the afternoon you will proceed for guided tour of historical Jagdalpur and the Anthropological Museum and Chitrakote waterfall, Bastar's very own 'Niagara' on the Indravati River. Jagdalpur is a city in the Chhattisgarh state of central India. The city is located on the south bank of the Indravati River, and has a population of approximately 250,000.
Day 12 - Jagdalpur
After an early breakfast, visit the rich forests of the Kanger Valley National Park, the enchanting Tirathgarh waterfall and the extraordinary stalactite and stalagmite caves. Also explore some of Jagdalpur's unique handicrafts.
Day 13 - Raipur
After breakfast you will drive to Raipur (6 hrs). Upon arrival, you will check in at the Hotel. In the afternoon you will free to relax and unwind.
Day 14 - Mumbai
After breakfast transfer to Raipur airport to board flight for Mumbai 0855-1000. On arrival in Mumbai you will be met and transferred to your Hotel. Evening is at leisure to relax.
Day 15 - Mumbai
Breakfast is at the Hotel. Today at an appropriate time, you will be met and transferred to Mumbai International airport to connect with your homebound or onwards flight... or travel to your next destination if you would like to add to this tour.
