A very nice combination of spirituality and natural beauty, this tour gives you a good view into the intricately rich and thickly cultured destinations of southern India.

Overview

Setting off at Chennai, you gear up at the metropolis at leisure, or gathering its feel while taking a little stroll on its busy streets. The south Indian cuisine is an interesting bet! The next stop is the temple town of Madurai which happens to be the oldest cities inhabited. It is known for the famous Meenakshi Temple.  

Apart from being one of the most ancient master pieces, the temple has this unique hall of Thousand Pillars, with its outer corridor having these exquisite Musical Pillars. There are also several other attractions of this rich destination. The second most special attraction of the southern landscape is the greenery dotted with coconut palms, lush green paddy fields, backwaters and the calm!! Bet these are the most expected ingredients that make a holiday in the nature’s lap one to cherish till visited again.

The sojourn with the south ends somewhat unwillingly at Cochin which has a signing off dance performance a short but interesting visit at the colonial monuments like the St. Francis church and the Dutch Palace. An action packed and a respite granting capsule!!

Outlined Itinerary

Day 01 - Chennai
Arrive Chennai, You will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will have private guided tour of Chennai including visit to Government Museum, Santhome cathedral and Kapaleswarar temple
Day 02 - Madurai
After breakfast, morning will be at leisure. In appropriate time, you will be met and transferred to airport for flight to Madurai. Meet & greet on arrival and transfer to your hotel. Later, you will witness evening Aarti ceremony at Meenakshi Temple
Day 03 - Madurai
After breakfast, you will have private guided tour of Madurai including visit of Meenakshi temple, Teppakulam, Gandhi museum, Tiruparankundram & Tirumalainayak palace
Day 04 - Madurai
After breakfast, you will visit to Alagar kovil & Pazhamudir Cholai. Afternoon will be at lesiure to relax at the hotel.
Day 05 - Thekkady
After breakfast, you will drive to Thekkady (3.5 hrs) Arrive Thekkady and check in at the hotel. Afternoon you will have boat ride at Lake Periyar. Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the Cardamom Hills, is one of India's best parks for spotting elephants, bison, wild boar, oxen, deer and a variety of birds.
Day 06 - Backwaters
After breakfast, you will have visit to spice plantation followed by drive to Alleppey Jetty (3.5 hrs) to board overnight houseboat. Check in at the Houseboat. Kettuvallam (Houseboat) is an ideal mode to experience life of local village life through backwaters. FULL BOARD
Day 07 - Alleppey
Breakfast onboard, you will disembark houseboat at Alleppey Jetty and transfer to your Hotel. Afternoon will at lesiure to relax at the hotel.
Day 08 - Alleppey
After breakfast, today you will be at lesiure to explore on own the beach area/ local temples/Ashram visits/ village activities. Alleppey is a pleasant easy going market town surrounded by coconut plantations and built on the canals which serves the coir industry of the backwaters. Rightly called the “Venice of the East”, Alleppey is crisscrossed by a network of canals.
Day 09 - Cochin
After breakfast, you will drive to Cochin (1.5 hrs) Arrive Cochin and check in at the hotel. Cochin was on the main trade route between Europe and China. The rulers invited people of various religions to settle here, attracting the Jews and the Christians who built places of worship and their own communities. In the evening, you will enjoy Kathakali dance performance.
Day 10 - Cochin
After breakfast, you will be taken for a half day private guided tour of Cochin. You will visit the most important sights of the city. Dutch Palace (Closed on Friday), Jewish Synagogue (Closed on Friday & Saturday), St. Francis Church and Chinese Fishing Nets. Afternoon will be at leisure.
Day 11 - Mumbai
Breakfast is at the Hotel; you will be met and transferred to Cochin airport to connect with your flight to Mumbai 0825-1015. Arrive Mumbai, assistance in connection for your homebound flight.
