Spiritual Maharashtra

MUMBAI (2) - NASIK (2) - AURANGABAD / AJANTA & ELLORA (3) - SHIRDI (1) - PUNE (2) - MATHERAN (2) - LONAVALA (2) - MUMBAI (0) = 14 nights

India is an ocean of spirituality; each and every inch of this land is soaked in it. If given a deeper thought almost every state in India can give a spiritual tour.

Overview

Maharashtra or the Great Land actually is full to the brim, with history, culture, philosophy, art, aesthetics, ancient temples, the list is never-ending. Beginning in cosmopolitan Mumbai, the journey takes you to Nashik, a picture perfect city of temples adorning the placid banks of the river Godavari. Your quest takes you beyond the nine hills of Nashik to yet another city called Aurangabad known for the world renowned Ajanta and Ellora temples-complete magic!

The next in line is the famous city of Shirdi, the divine abode of Shri Sai Baba which adds on to the religious spirit already picking momentum. It’s not just the temples or the premises but even the air and atmosphere in these places is pious and holy. Pune or the land of Virtue that it means is rich in monuments and shrines of ancient era. Caves, museums, forts and the usual modern hubs- it has it all. The subliming peace is further elevated at a quaint little green and refreshing Matheran; discovered by the British it is sheer joy in green hills and red laterite paths. Absolutely pure and immaculate, Lonavala yet another of the pretty hill stations is a delight in the rainy season.

It honestly requires a few more of such tours to actually begin discovering this magnificent and spiritual destination that is India.
