No matter how advanced and sophisticated life gets, it is always the simple and unknown that gives more pleasure in life, at times they are things that have a special place in our childhood memories like stories of Toy Trains.

Overview

Toy trains have the special distinction in the tourism world of still infusing that element of fascination and wonderment. The journey begins for this tour in the city of Mumbai which is called the city of dreams sometimes! After a day at leisure a short drive would take you to a place called Neral from where the toy train begins its 20kms journey till Matheran.

This is a very non flashy hill station that attracts a lot of local tourists too. The toy train is a hundred year old and promises a scenic journey through the green alleys of the Western Ghats nearing a place called Karzat. Couple of days here in Matheran gives you peaceful and hassle free moments for yourself. Short strolls or just enjoying the tranquillity, it’s all there. From the hills to the beaches, now isn’t that a fabulous change of spirits!! The tour gives you couple of days stay at Goa, one of the most sought after destinations here.

There are countless beaches, world heritage architecture, bio-diversity parks, churches and so much more. In Goa the monuments, cuisine, language and even certain subtle life styles carry the Portuguese influence.

Outlined Itinerary

Day 01 - Mumbai
Arrive Mumbai, meet and transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure to relax and overcome the jetlag.
Day 02 - Mumbai
After breakfast, you will take a private guided tour of Mumbai. We shall proceed with a visit to the Gateway of India, Prince of Wales Museum [Closed on Monday], Dhobi Ghat, Chhatrapati Terminal and drive past Marine Drive. Evening is at leisure to relax and unwind.
Day 03 - Matheran
Early morning, you will be met and transferred to Neral Railway Station (01 hr) to connect with your Toy Train to Matheran 0900-1000. As Matheran is non – vehicle zone the guests will be dropped at Daburi, the last point where the vehicles are allowed. From there, the guests will be transferred to hill top Matheran by horse carriage. Evening is at leisure to relax and explore on own.
Day 04 - Matheran
After breakfast, you are at leisure to walk and explore the town on own. Barely 171 kms from Mumbai, Matheran, discovered by Hugh Mallet, collector of Thane district, in 1850, has long been a refuge for humidity-stricken Mumbaikars (as the residents of the metropolis are known). Its 8 sq kms cover a hilltop in the Sahyadri Hills, and its proximity to Mumbai ensures its' continued popularity for weekend getaways.
Day 05 - Matheran
After breakfast, you are at leisure to walk and explore the town on own.
Day 06 - Goa
After breakfast, you will drive to Mumbai (6 Hrs) airport to connect with your flight to Goa 1655-1755. Arrive Goa and transfer to your hotel, then at leisure
Day 07 - Goa
After breakfast, you are at leisure to relax and pursue independent activities.
Day 08 - Goa
After breakfast, you are at leisure to relax and pursue independent activities.
Day 09 - Goa
After breakfast, you are at leisure to relax and pursue independent activities.
Day 10 - Goa
After breakfast, you are at leisure to relax and pursue independent activities.
Day 11 - Mumbai
Breakfast is at the Hotel. Today at an appropriate time, you will be met and transferred to Goa domestic airport to connect with your flight to Mumbai 0715-0815. Arrive Mumbai where you will connect with homebound or onwards flight... or travel to your next destination if you would like to add to this tour.
