Journey through the Nilgiri Hills

Overview

Well, the journey kick-starts at the 'byte basket' of India, Bangalore. It is also called the silicon city of India. From a modern to a classical history oozing city-Mysore, is a nice change. Located between the Kaveri and the Kabini rivers, Mysore is famous for sandalwood artefacts and the monuments and temples of the Wodeyar era. It is a pretty destination with the placid Karanji Lake nearby.

The next change brings you to the first of three hill stations of the coast of Malabar-Coonor. It is a great way to begin the coastal journey. The greenery and the nature is at its best. Just after this, follows a two day stay at Sultan Battery, the historical watchtower built by Tipu Sultan. It gives the look of a strong fortress though. It is worth visiting for the architectural genius.

Having witnessed the monuments and a typical busy city, get ready for an adventure at the Nagarhole national park. A plethora of flora and fauna awaits to be discovered. The seasonal changes and the river system brings some unique alterations in the terrain making it a special experience.

The region between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea is called the Malabar Coast which has found a mention in lot of literature penned by several writers of the colonial era. Running from Goa to the Cape Comrin the coast offers many unforgettable port cities on the way like Mahe.

Virgin beaches, temples, churches, waterfalls and so much more. In short, the tour is surely worth cherishing!!

Outlined Itinerary

Day 01 - Bangalore

Arrive Bangalore where you are met and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon you are taken on a private guided half day tour of Bangalore visiting Vidhan Sabha, Lal Bagh, Bull Temple and Tipu Sultan's Palace.

Day 02 - Mysore

After breakfast, you will drive to Mysore (04 Hrs). On arrival, you will check in at your hotel. Evening is at leisure to relax and unwind.

Day 03 - Mysore

After breakfast, enjoy a half day guided tour of Mysore visiting Somnathpur, Srirangapatnam, Chamundi Hills and Mysore Palace. Afternoon is at leisure to relax or pursue independent activities; If you wish you can visit the markets this evening.

Day 04 - Ooty

After breakfast, you will drive to Ooty (04 Hrs) .On arrival check in at your hotel. Evening is at leisure to relax and explore.

Day 05 - Ooty

After breakfast, you will enjoy a tour of Ooty and the Toy train ride down from Ooty to Coonoor. Evening is at leisure to relax.

Day 06 - Wayanad

After breakfast, you will drive to Wayand (04 Hrs). On arrival, you will check in at your hotel. Evening is at leisure to relax and explore. HALF BOARD

Day 07 - Wayanad

After breakfast, you will enjoy a half day trek to Edakkal Caves. Evening is at leisure to relax and unwind after the soft trek. HALF BOARD

Day 08 - Nagarhole NP

After breakfast, you will drive to Nagarhole (03 Hrs). On arrival, check in at your hotel. Evening is at leisure to relax and unwind. FULL BOARD

Day 09 - Nagarhole NP

Early morning you will proceed for the Boat Safari. The guests will be taken upstream from the resort on the Kabini River and will get an opportunity to visit Bandipur National Park. Giant Bamboo, dominates the riverside. Return to the Lodge for breakfast. In the afternoon, you will enjoy canter safari at the Park. FULL BOARD

Day 10 - Coorg

After breakfast, you will drive to Coorg (04 Hrs). On arrival, check in at your hotel. Afternoon you will visit coffee plantation. The Plantation Trails are located in the idyllic coffee growing estates in and around Pollibetta. Spread over an extensive area, these coffee estates also grow pepper, cardamom and vanilla. Evening is at leisure to relax and unwind.

Day 11 - Coorg

After breakfast, you will enjoy half day visit to Dubare Camp. Dubare Elephant camp has plenty of elephants which are trained under naturalists. A trained naturalist is at hand to explain the various aspects of Elephant history, ecology and biology. The visitor can not only observe and learn but also participate in various activities involving Elephants. Evening is at leisure to relax.

Day 12 - Mumbai

After breakfast, you will drive to Mangalore (05 Hrs). Afternoon board your flight for Mumbai 1455-1615, meet and transfer to your airport hotel. Evening is at leisure to relax and unwind.

Day 13 - Mumbai

Breakfast is at the Hotel. Today at an appropriate time, you will be met and transfer to the airport for your homebound or onward flight.... or travel to your next destination if you would like to add to this tour.
