Like every other region of India, the southern destinations have a distinct and a somewhat classical touch to it. Kerala famously referred to as God's own country has a treasure to offer.

Overview

In this tour you get the flavour of the southern part of the state. It all begins at one of the most multicultural, diverse and secular city of Cochin.

The place has the finest natural harbours. Known for the spice trade in the ancient times, this beautiful cluster of islands retains the colonial touch too. Fort Kochi is a great specimen. You proceed to the picturesque Munnar which casts its spell for the two days that you spend here. A walk in the clouds is promised in this haven of natural beauty. Neat tea plantations and sightseeing points; it has it all.

A different adventure tunes in as you reach Thekkady to explore the Periyar Tiger Reserve. Certainly one the most well maintained reserves out of the 27 there are in India. It is a paradise for the ornithologists and animal lovers. A little bonus is an interesting stroll to the small tribal hamlets nearby. Soon after a hectic jungle times you can breathe the cool and soothing breeze under the lofty coconut and palm canopies in Kumarakom. Located on the Vembanad Lake this city offers ferry rides boat rides, canoeing and the famous cosy stay in the rice barge or Kettuvellom is waiting too.

The best part of this well designed tour is that it gradually brings you in a slower pace through the destinations and finally relaxes and rejuvenates you at the peaceful soft beaches of Mararikulam. Isn't that a perfect holiday!!

Outlined Itinerary

Day 01 - Cochin
Arrive Cochin. Meet and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is then at leisure to relax after your flight.
Day 02 - Cochin
After breakfast, you will be taken for a half day private guided tour of Cochin. You will visit the most important sights of the city. Dutch Palace (Closed on Friday), Jewish Synagogue (Closed on Friday & Saturday), St. Francis Church and Chinese Fishing Nets. In the evening, you will enjoy Kathakali dance performance.
Day 03 - Munnar
After breakfast, you will drive to Munnar (4 hrs) Arrive Munnar and check in at the hotel. Afternoon will be at leisure to relax at the hotel. Your driver is at your disposal this afternoon if you require his services for local drives.
Day 04 - Munnar
After breakfast you will take a private guided tour of Munnar. Visit the Eravikulam National Park. A sanctuary for the endangered mountain goat of South India, the Nilgiri Tahr (Hemitragus hylocrious), the Eravikulam National Park stands out for the stark beauty of its rolling grasslands and sholas, spread over 97 sq km in the Kannan devan hills. Here are some other locations to visit whilst in Munnar if you prefer. Mattupetty Lake and Dam, Echo Point, Kundale Lake, Blossom Garden and Rajamalai which h offers spectacular views. You can also visit a Tea Plantation museum. Evening is at leisure.
Day 05 - Thekkady
After breakfast, you will drive to Thekkady (3 hrs) Arrive Thekkady and check in at the hotel. Afternoon will at lesiure to relax at the hotel.
Day 06 - Thekkady
After breakfast, you will enjoy morning boat ride on Lake Periyar followed by spice planation. Later afternoon, you will witness Kalarippayattu-traditional martial art of Kerala.
Day 07 - Kumarakom
After breakfast, you will drive to Kumarakom located on the famous backwaters of Kerala (3.5 hrs) Arrive Kumarakom and check in at the hotel. Afternoon will at lesiure to relax at the hotel.
Day 08 - Kumarakom
After breakfast, day is at leisure to relax or pursue independent activities. Car and driver will not be at disposal. However, same can be arranged at nominal charges by contacting our local office directly.
Day 09 - Backwaters
After breakfast, you will drive to Alleppey (1 hr) to board your own private Rice Barge/houseboat. Kettuvallam (Houseboat) is an ideal mode to experience life of Kerala villages through the backwater canals. FULL BOARD
Day 10 - Mararikulam
After breakfast onboard you will disembark at Alleppey jetty and drive the short distance to Mararikulam beach. Arrive Mararikulam and check in at the resort. Afternoon will be at leisure to relax.
Day 11 - Mararikulam
After breakfast your days will be at leisure to relax and explore the on your own. Car and driver will not be at disposal.
Day 12 - Mararikulam
After breakfast your days will be at leisure to relax and explore the on your own. Car and driver will not be at disposal.
Day 14 - Mararikulam
After breakfast your days will be at leisure to relax and explore the on your own. Car and driver will not be at disposal.
Day 15 - Cochin
Breakfast is at the Hotel. Today at an appropriate time, you will be met and transferred to Cochin International airport (2.5 Hrs) to connect with your homebound or onwards flight... or travel to your next destination if you would like to add to this tour.
