Discover Rajasthan by Homestays

DELHI (2) - AGRA (2) - JAIPUR (2) - JODHPUR (2) - PALI (2) - UDAIPUR (2) - MUMBAI (2) = 14 nights

This systematic travel capsule takes you through one of the most enchanting states of India-Rajasthan.

Overview

Historically, one of the most rich and culturally oozing with traditions, values, festivals and exhaustively interesting, Rajasthan is not just about the valiant kings or maharajas and their lifestyles, it is also about the strong sense of responsibility that the royal families have shown towards preserving the rich heritage in the forts, palaces, museums.

The care and the hard work also stretch out to the up-liftmen of the locals and the revival and evolution of the ancient crafts and expertise. So to travel through Rajasthan is also a great way to appreciate the efforts and the passion that shows everywhere. The journey begins at Delhi, where one gets a blink and misses view of the amalgamation of modern and medieval Delhi in a day’s stay. The train then takes you to Agra, to visit the pearl on the banks of the Yamuna- the Taj Mahal.

A little respite before one proceeds to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri which is yet another interesting architectural specimen of the Mughal era. Later in the day one can relax and unwind. Jaipur offers an insight to the great Rajput architecture through the Amer Fort and the Hawa Mahal. The intricate jail work is worth watching. The busy markets are great idea for a little stroll to grab a few trinkets! The following destinations talk a lot about the grand styles of the maharajas. Jodhpur boasts of the domineering Mehrangarh Fort, which is 122mts. above the city.

The beautiful structure is hemmed by a few small houses painted in an unusual blue colour. Next two destinations- Pali and Udaipur flip some rich pages of history quiet well. Promising holiday indeed!!
