The Narrow Guage trains in India trace back to the colonial times. The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway began way back in 1879. Back then it just served the purpose of transporting agro goods and mining or quarrying activities. Today that toy train serves as a locomotive that brings delight to the travellers!

Overview

The tour shoots off at Delhi where after a whirlwind tour of the city’s attractions both old and new and a little relaxing and unwinding, the next day takes you to Bagdogra. From here you drive to Kurseong. It is a little city in the Darjeeling district - a quiet little city that has tranquillity in abundance. Thankfully it is not part of the destination races and at times looks too laid back. It is known as the land of the White Orchid. Here you get to board the toy train.

The toy train then gracefully takes those short radius turns to quaint stations on the way like Tung; Sonada which also has the miniature models of the toy trains to watch. Sonada also gives you fairy tale views of the woods, of the chestnut and cream magnolia, the oats and moss laden trees. The next station is Jor Bunglow which might witness a little traffic jam!.  After that dramatic pause it proceeds rather descends towards Darjeeling.

It is a picturesque ride straight from the colourful story books!!After a city tour of Darjeeling, you drive to another picture perfect destination Glenburn just in an hour. Glenburn offers stunning views of the mountains and the peace that is really restoring for a weary mind. The few days spent at Glenburn with impeccable hotel comforts and the magical views, apart from the short village walks giving you a peep into the natives; are worth cherishing for a long time.

The beautiful tryst with the hills thus comes to an end before you fly back to Delhi.

Outlined Itinerary

Day 01 - Delhi
Arrive Delhi, meet and transfer to your hotel. Later proceed for orientation tour of Old and New Delhi. Visit Qutub Minar – the 239ft sandstone tower. Drive past the India Gate; Parliament House [exterior] and the President’s Palace. Visit Raj Ghat where Mahatma Gandhi – The Father of Nation was cremated and drive past the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk.
Day 02 - Kurseong
After breakfast, you will be met and transferred to Delhi airport to connect with your flight to Bagdogra 1050-1300. Arrive Bagdogra and drive to Kurseong [2 Hrs]. Arrive Kurseong and check in at the hotel. FULL BOARD
Day 03 - Kurseong
After breakfast, today, you will be at leisure to pursue independent activities. You can walk around small hilly town. FULL BOARD
Day 04 - Darjeeling
After breakfast, morning will be at leisure. At an appropriate time, you will be met and transferred to Kurseong Railway Station to connect with your Toy Train to Darjeeling 1500-1750. Arrive Darjeeling & transfer to your hotel. FULL BOARD
Day 05 - Darjeeling
Early morning, you will visit Tiger Hill & Ghoom Monastery. Later, you will visit Tibetan Refugee Centre (Closed on Sunday), HMI & Zoo. (Closed on Thursday), In the afternoon, you will walk to Bhutia Busty Monastery & Observatory Hill. FULL BOARD
Day 06 - Glenburn
After breakfast, you will drive to Glenburn (01 Hr). Arrive Glenburn and check in at the hotel. Evening is at leisure to relax and explore on your own. FULL BOARD
Day 07 - Glenburn
After breakfast, today, you will be at leisure to pursue independent activities. You can walk around and explore on your own. FULL BOARD

After breakfast, today, you will be at leisure to pursue independent activities. You can walk around and explore on your own. FULL BOARD
Day 09 - Delhi
After breakfast, you will drive to Bagdogra airport to connect with your flight to Delhi 1355-1545. Arrive Delhi and transfer to your hotel .Rest of the day will be at lesiure to pursue independent activities.
Day 10 - Delhi
Breakfast is at the Hotel. Today at an appropriate time, you will be met and transferred to International airport to connect with your homebound or onwards flight... or travel to your next destination if you would like to add to this tour.
