The Royal Suites most assuredly live up to their name. Gracefully composed details imbue the suites with effortless royal charm. Guests delight in the delicate frescoes, decorative wall niches and antique wooden fans. The views are panoramic, even from the bathrooms. SANDHYA Suite
Sandhya or evening suggests beauty and tranquillity and is fittingly adorned with rich emerald green and royal blue. BASANT BAHAR Suite
Basant Bahar is a luxurious suite inspired by the ethereal spirit of spring. With a silk canopy over the decorative four-poster bed, silk furnishings, rich carpet, miniature paintings and inlaid furniture, the suite offers a heady regal ambience. The suite also has scenic views of the lake and Jagmandir, the neighbouring island palace. 

ARAVALLI DARSHAN Suite
The Aravalli Darshan offers a view of the Aravallis, the oldest fold mountains in the world that stretch 350 miles in a north easterly slant through Rajasthan. This suite allows you to commune with the pure beauty of nature. Wake up each morning to the spectacular panorama of a ring of mountains encircling the turquoise waters of Lake Pichola. 

MACHLA MAGRA Suite
Machla Magra presents a view of an unusual mountain that all agree suggests the form of a fish. This wooded hillside was once a favourite hunting ground for the king, and even today the shooting box can still be seen amidst the foliage. This compact suite also offers views of the lake, Jagmandir the neighbouring island palace and the hills that are yours to enjoy from the alcove. 

JAG MANDIR DARSHAN Suite
Jag Mandir Island, a serene palace built by Maharana Karan Singh in about 1620, is the star of the picturesque view from this suite. The Mughal prince Khurrram, later Emperor Shah Jehan, sought refuge in its soothing ambience in 1623 and it is said that his visit there later inspired his construction of the exquisite Taj Mahal at Agra. The rulers of Udaipur also enjoyed the beauty and tranquillity of the palace. When heir apparent Maharana Jagat Singh II was restrained by his father to curtail his moonlight soirees at the island, he vowed to build his own island palace. The result was the creation of Jag Niwas, now Taj Lake Palace, which was inaugurated with lavish and elaborate festivities in 1746. The Jag Mandir Darshan suite recalls the incident that gave Udaipur the beautiful lake palace. 

RANG MAHAL Suite
The Rang Mahal suite is awash with colour. The bright and cheerful colours of the art and embellishments infuse the suite with cheer and all occupants with a joie de vivre. Created in one of the oldest parts of the palace, this lovely one bedroom suite has a treatment room (massage room) and its own private Jacuzzi. Two levels of scenic views and bring an especially opulent way to view Jag Mandir, the neighbouring island palace. 

GRAND ROYAL SUITES
The Grand Royal Suites are the epitome of royal grandeur and offer guests a taste of the finest traditions and lifestyles of the princely kingdom of Udaipur. The resplendent Grand Royal Suites are the part of the original design of the palace and their decadence is legendary. Many Grand Royal Suites also flaunt an attached terrace. However lavish the suites may be, they are also warm and welcoming to a fault. 

KHUSH MAHAL suite
Khush Mahal, tucked away in the rear of the palace, was once the queen’s chamber.Its understated, elegant interiors, cusped arches and other authentic details define the spectacular suite. An antique swing, suspended by decorative gleaming brass chains, invites you to sit back and enjoy the charm of this suite. Coloured glass panels transform sunrays into a kaleidoscope of colours, infusing the room with an enchanting warm ambience. 

UDAI MAHAL suite
Udai Mahal pays tribute to the illustrious and foresighted ruler Maharana Udai Singh II, who laid the foundations of Udaipur, on a cluster of hills near Lake Pichola in the mid-16th century. The exquisitely furnished suite, embellished with original miniature paintings, brocade panelling and antique ivory inlaid chairs, recreate a regal world to be savoured by modern connoisseurs. 

SARVA RITU suite
Sarva Ritu or the All Seasons Suite is a seamless blend of royal living and contemporary luxury. The interiors are embellished with charming beds, decorative wooden headboards, rich furnishings, a brilliant Waterford chandelier and engravings. Closing the corner chattri, which was once a partly open pavilion, has enhanced the beauty of this suite. So you can soak yourself in complete privacy and drink in the spectacular view of the lake and mountains. 

KAMAL MAHAL suite
Kamal Mahal or Lotus Palace alludes to the beauty of the flower, traditionally regarded as a symbol of purity in India. The pristine beauty of the suite, with its select artefacts, paintings, furniture and carpets, conveys a warm and welcoming ambience. A Pichwais, a revered, hand-painted cloth traditionally crafted in Nathdwara, for display behind idols, adds beauty to the suite. 

SAJJAN NIWAS suite
The Sajjan Niwas suite, built by Maharana Sajjan Singh between 1874-1884, retains an old world charm in its lamps, portraits, glass mosaics, traditional cloth fans, inlaid doors and intricate furniture. The bedroom of the suite, decorated with frescoes depicting the Hindu deity Krishna, is suffused with romance. The Sajjan Niwas Suite Terrace opens onto the lake with spectacular views of Jagmandir Island and Aravallis.Intimate dinners and private parties easily suggest themselves for this idyllic venue. 

CHANDRA PRAKASH suite
The Chandra Prakash, or Lustre of the Moon suite, glows like a celestial orb with golden-yellow chandeliers and lamps softly lighting the decorative gilt mouldings, and sinuously sculpted marble. Fine fretted screens, floors inlaid with yellow, diamond-shaped tiles and ceiling frescoes complete the luminescent décor. Maharana Bhopal Singh held court in this august room in the 1930’s making it the only suite to hold this honour. 

VIRKHA suite
Virkha, or rains, are especially precious in desert and semi-arid regions of Rajasthan.Clouds fill the skies, and the rain gently fills the lakes, transforming the land into soothing shades of green and infusing the air with a soft scent of damp earth.This elegant suite, embellished with local crafts and textiles, includes a sitting area and two balconies that offer guests panoramic views of the lake to enjoy the special season. 

MAYUR MAHAL suite
The resplendent beauty of the peacock with its iridescent blue, green and bronze hues, inspire the rich décor of Mayur Mahal. In India the beautiful bird has traditionally been regarded as a symbol of royalty, love, fertility and the rains. The artistically crafted with glass mosaic peacock motifs embellish the walls of this exquisite suite.The coloured glass window panels change the mood in the room as the light shifts so Mayur Mahal has a different regal ambience at every hour of the day. 

JAL TARANG suite
The Jal Tarang suite evokes the idea of water waves. Located at the lobby level it offers scenic views of the tranquil waters of Lake Pichola and the mountains. The lake facing Jacuzzi and the magical frosted glass panels that change to clear ones with a flick of a switch add to the romance of this suite. Jal Tarang is an ideal place to savour the myriad colours of the sky and lake at sunset. 

GRAND PRESIDENTIAL SUITE
The Shambhu Prakash suite is named after the Maharana Shambhu Singh, known for his progressive reforms and welfare measures in the 1860’s. The suite, furnished in impressive, opulent strokes of colour graced with high curved arches, exudes a mix of both Rajasthani and European grandeur.

In the tradition of the city’s finest heritage hotel, Shambhu Prakash exceeds the expectations of its guests. The Suite’s style cleverly melds a variety of themes reflecting Mewar’s diverse history of ethnic cultures. The suite opens to a comfortable and elegantly appointed library stocked with select literary works and hand picked artefacts. Royal Jiva Spa Boat
Soak your senses at the Royal Jiva Spa Boat on the tranquil waters of Lake Pichola. This unique spa experience recreates the splendour of the Lake Palace, the royal traditions of the House of Mewar and the rejuvenating experiences of the Jiva Spa. 

Inspired by the style of the old palaces of Udaipur, the Jiva Spa Boat evokes the stately air of past royal cruises aboard the House of Mewar’s ceremonial Gangaur barge. The design of the boat fuses historical and regal references with contemporary design, featuring a spacious, air conditioned double spa suite, a relaxation lounge, steam bath and shower. The suite opens out onto a large sky deck, which offers a soak pool, traditional lounging bed and dining area with views out to the Aravalli Mountains – the oldest in the world.
