A modern, yet traditional family home, Surya Kunj is close to the fort and Umaid Bhawan  Palace. The host is an expert in the history and religions of Jodhpur and the family have an illustrious past with several military ancestors.

Surya Kunj is the modern but traditional family home of Sajjan Singh, his wife, two sons and parents- they also have a Labrador called Sabre. Sajjan is a talkative and conscientious host; guests will not be left unaware of where to find the most interesting parts of the Old City, nor least, of the history of the city itself.

An avid reader, Sajjan is a fountain of information on all things, especially history and religion: he has compiled a complex network of his family tree and can give foreign guests a fascinating explanation of Hinduism and its legends.  

The family mainly live in the downstairs section of the house and, while guests also have the use of the spacious upstairs sitting room, they are welcome to join the family in their quarters or on the veranda by the lawn for coffee and a chat.

In the evenings guests can sit by an open fire on the roof terrace, enjoying the views of Jodhpur from all directions, from the fort to the Umaid Bhawan Palace.
