The Imperial is a legend that offers a unique experience embracing facets of India's history, and stands witness to the birth of the capital city of New Delhi.

Awash in white, The Imperial Hotel is a unique blend of old and new having successfully preserved its past aura to provide its guests with a lifetime of memories. It is a marvelous mélange of Victorian, colonial and art deco styles in its interiors. 

Built in 1931 by Blomfield; one of Sir Edwin Lutyen’s associates and inaugurated by Lord Willingdon in 1936, the Hotel is known for its contemporary colonial style. 

The Imperial has 190 spacious guest rooms and an impressive collection of 43 suites, with high ceilings and thematic décor. Its Presidential Suite spans over 3,000 Sq. feet, including spacious & luxurious dining and sitting areas, an expansive master bedroom and study. Porthault linens, Bang & Olufsen television and a private steam room, sauna, and Jacuzzi contribute to the suite’s overall feeling of elegant opulence.

GRAND HERITAGE ROOM ~ 450-486 sq.ft.
Colonial layout with high ceiling. Available only with Hollywood bed (Twin jackets can be placed) having posturepedic spring mattress with exclusive linen from Porthault, France. Beautiful marble baths with hand shower, Fragonard bathroom amenities, modern hairdryer. Spacious bedrooms with a seating area for 5 -6 guests and an option of Garden view as well as the choice of marble or parquet flooring. THE SPICE ROUTE - South-East Asian Restaurant & Courtyard
Heralded as one of the top ten restaurants in the world by Condé Nast Traveler, The Spice Route is poetry in design. The renowned restaurant mesmerizes all your senses enrapturing you with its sensuous exotica. Designed by Rajeev Sethi, the celebrated cultural czar of India, The Spice Route reflects the journey of spices from the Malabar Coast in Kerala through Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Malaysia, and Indonesia to Thailand and Vietnam.

The restaurant is an overwhelming visual depiction of the art and culture that travelled with the spices through these regions, presented in a folk, religious and cultural fantasy of the Orient. The Restaurant, that was seven years in the making, is completely hand painted with vegetable and flower dyes by mural painters brought in especially from a temple in Guruvayur in Kerala with a tradition dating back to 3000 years. 

1911 - All Day Dining Restaurant & Verandah Lounge
1911 is a landmark year in the history of New Delhi. In December 1911, King Emperor George V had declared New Delhi as the Capital of India and laid the foundation of New Delhi. 1911 pays a tribute to this historic milestone that led to the emergence of New Delhi as a seat of power.

Given the historical significance it compliments, 1911 is a celebration of aesthetics with its rich interiors and cuisine that showcases the 'melting pot' culture of Delhi and service that is truly a reflection of Imperial India. 

The Imperial, has for long, had a ‘relationship’ with period art. In fact, 1911 is an ode to this tradition. It is replete with antiquities dating back to the 1911 Durbar, etchings of ink, stipple, lithographs, tints (mezzo and aqua), and photographs from the colonial era and candle stands that have an image of The Imperial crown. 

Spread over 3 areas - the 1911 restaurant and Veranda Lounge, which overlooks The Imperial lawns the decor is set in rich mahogany and inspired by the understated grandeur of the Art Deco era.

Wellness symbolizes a healthy body and relaxed mind. The Swimming Pool, dotted by the Royal Palms and nestled in the shaded grounds of the Hotel, offers a tranquil, refreshing experience. A well-equipped Pool Bar serves delectable snacks and drinks to the guests.
